Automatic dual-control car Hire for a practical Driving test

Car Hire for Your Practical Driving Test

Need an automatic dual-control car for your practical driving test? Contact us to check availability for your test date and test centre.

This service is for experienced learners preparing for their test, rather than beginners.

Prices and What Is Included

The £150 test-day package includes:

• A one-hour lesson before your practical test.
• Use of the automatic dual-control car for your test.
• The return journey within an agreed local area.

The 90-minute assessment costs £60 separately. Any additional training and the driving test booking fee are not included. Please confirm your pickup location and test centre; any additional travel charge will be agreed before booking.

How to Book

1. Send your test details. Tell us your test date, time, test centre and recent driving experience.
2. Arrange an assessment lesson. Our instructor will assess your driving and identify any areas that need improvement.
3. Agree your next steps. If you are slightly below test standard, don’t worry. A few focused lessons and practice may help you reach the required standard, depending on your progress and the time available. After your first assessment, we will plan this with you.
4. Confirm your car hire. Once the instructor considers you safe and test-ready, and a car is available, we will confirm your booking.

Having a test booked does not always mean you are ready. Our aim is to help you approach your test safely and confidently, with clear advice and support.

Practical test car hire is a separate service. It is not included in pay-as-you-go lessons, regular block bookings or intensive courses.
